I started making art out of a strong inner need in 1996. My artistic output has grown exponentially since that time. Galleries, festivals, alternative venues; I’ve done a bit of each. In 2000 I began exhibiting at the Art market at Eastern Market on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. The regular gig gave me the freedom to explore my creative curiosities, always in the form of painting. My original paintings are in hundreds of homes, offices, and a few public spaces all over the world. Feel free to contact me any time for any reason. I’d love to make a custom piece of art for your home or office.

“I make art because I enjoy navigating my curiosity with form and color. You never know where you’ll end up when you take a line for a walk.”

Any questions?

By the way, for around five years I signed my paintings JETIII or JET III because that’s my initials: Joel E Traylor III.   I was stunned when another artist wrote me and said that he too is JETIII.  We are different people!  Lol.   That’s when I began reverted to my previous “J. Traylor” signature.  FYI!
